JLT Visit the Houses of Parliament

Well on a scorcher of a day, our JLT members remained effortlessly cool as they were toured around the Houses of Parliament showing themselves to be superb representatives of Dorchester Primary. They had the opportunity to sit in on a debate in the House of Commons on the theme of the Gaza war, a debate in the House of Lords on education and social care, then got to meet our local MP, Luke Taylor, and asked him some provocative and thoughtful questions: the three top questions put to Luke Taylor:
‘How are you going to help stop the war in Gaza?’
Then:
‘How are you going to fix the deficits in schools?'
Followed up by arguably the most important question of all:
‘Are you double jointed?!’

After this incredible tour of the 1000 year old historical building, we had a picnic in Victoria gardens in the shade by the Thames, and then a quick climb and energy burn in Horseferry playground before returning to school, slightly hot and sweaty at this stage, but I was so proud to be leading such a wonderful group of children who really proved their worth. Thanks must go as well to the parent helpers who we are so grateful to for your support on trips like these.
