JLT Cancer Research Ice Cream Stalls

JLT met this week to discuss a charitable event which they could lead on and carry out for this term. After researching and discussing various different charities, our JLT voted and decided that we would choose to raise money for Cancer Research UK, after finding out that a few members of JLT had had some experience of family members of friends who had sadly had cancer at some stage.

We then debated as to what would be the best means of raising money - after sharing different ideas, and identifying what the best initiative could be to gain the most profit, we agreed on setting up weekly ice cream stalls. It was raised by Joshua (year 6) that FODS are already selling ice creams for £1 - but these are ice lollies and packet ice creams - so Kieran (Year 5) suggested we sell freshly scooped ice creams into cornets, which everyone in JLT thought was a great idea. So it was decided, that every week until the end of term, different members of the JLT will be running an ice cream stall where children will be able to choose from a selection of ice creams to scoop into cornets, after which they will be able to choose toppings and sauces. The JLT ice cream stand will run every Monday afternoon until the end of term from 3.15pm - 3.30pm outside the school office.
