Chinese New Year Workshops Success!

The children in Year 5 were incredibly lucky to have the extremely generous and talented mothers of Etta & Emma, Kate, Molly and Kelson who kindly came into school for three consecutive mornings this week and ran highly engaging and fun sessions all about Chinese New Year. The children learnt about Lunar New Year traditions, the Chinese Zodiac - the year of Dragon and fun facts of DOs and DON'TS during the new year days.

They experienced the writing of Fai-Chun and traditional Chinese paper cutting and there was also a chance to see some traditional Chinese clothing! The mums put so much time and effort into preparing and delivering wonderful presentations all about this important festival and the children had an absolute blast, and learnt so much - at the end, they all received their own red gift envelopes - a staple tradition, with good luck messages written in Chinese inside.

We are so fortunate to have such an incredible community of families here at Dorchester, and we are so very grateful for your time - thank you so much to all the Mums again!
