Year 2: What landmarks, human and physical features can you identify from aerial photos of London?
This week, we used our observational skills to understand aerial maps. Through Google Maps and photos, we discovered that London is made up of different areas. We found some natural features, such as Hyde Park and the Thames. We also found many famous landmarks, like The Gherkin, The London Eye, Buckingham Palace and The Shard. We also found lots of human-made features, such high rise buildings, train lines and bridges. We observed that we could spot these features easily by looking for common colours and shapes (green grass and trees or grey/ silver rectangular buildings).
