What makes a good friend?

This week in PSHE we looked at what makes a good friend. The children were encouraged to reflect on what they liked about their friends, but also what made them a good friend too. Qualities such as kindness and helpfulness came up a lot, as well as being funny and cheerful.

We discussed the idea that good friends treat us with kindness and respect and are people we trust. Friends are people who like and accept us for who we are, and don’t try to make us do things that we are uncomfortable with.

We then drew ourselves on a friendship flower, to show what qualities we think make us a good friend. Underneath, we added a quality we like as a friend, that we would like to work on for ourselves.
