Year 4 - How can we make a structure to keep standing in an Earthquake?

This week we faced a challenge of trying to build a structure from cocktail sticks and marshmallows. We practised our best collaboration skills of designing and building in groups. The tables became tectonic plates, which moved and caused the land to vibrate (a tray of jelly). The good news is that all the buildings survived. It was a fun way to think about something that affects millions of people around the world.
