Nursery: What has been your favourite part of our Easter celebrations?

This week in Nursery, we have been learning about Easter and how Christians celebrate Easter. We have learnt about the Easter story in the Bible; starting with Palm Sunday, which is when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and people, waved palm leaves. We made our own palm leaves to wave in celebration and took it in turns to ride the donkey. We also learnt about The Last Supper that Jesus had with his friends. We learnt that they had bread to represent Jesus’ body and wine to represent his blood. We enjoyed have some bread and juice. We learnt that Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross but then came to life again because he is God’s son. We made Easter gardens with stones in to represent the stone that Jesus rolled away from the tomb and chicks to celebrate new life. We also made Easter nest cakes, had a visit from the Easter bunny and enjoyed parading our Easter bonnets in front of our friends and families. Wow what a busy but egg siting week!
Happy Easter everyone.
