Nursery: Where do you live? What types of homes are in Worcester Park?

This week in Nursery, we have been thinking about different types of homes. We have read the book ‘All Kinds of Homes’ by Emma Damon and we have been thinking about the different types of homes that we have in Worcester Park. We have learnt the difference between houses, flats, bungalows and maisonettes. The children have all enjoyed talking about their own homes and they have been making models of their homes using cardboard boxes. They have looked closely at photographs of their homes and worked really hard to include the key details including CCTV cameras, letterboxes, bins etc. We have also been talking about whether our homes are close to school or further away and the children have been talking about how they travel to school. This will link into our learning next week where we are going to read ‘Naughty Bus’ story by Jan and Jerry Oke. We are going to be learning about different types of transport.
