Occupational Therapy (OT)
There are children throughout the school who receive Occupational Therapy (OT) through external outside agencies - NHS, private healthcare or Cognus in Sutton. The targets from the sessions are put on a plan and these are followed up in school, some more often than others depending on the need of the child. If a child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) they will receive OT from a professional more regularly and this is followed up by an adult in school.
If a child has received OT through NHS, private healthcare or Cognus the targets will be followed up by an adult in school or by our OT LSA - Donna Lydon. She will work on these targets with the child during the week. She communicates with the therapists who come into school to make sure that current targets are in place.
Occupational Therapy targets include working on fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing skills, developmental skills, play skills, self-care and life skills, visual perception skills.
