Year 4 - What is batik printing?

After a great Easter holiday, we hit the ground running with an art day, designing a batik print inspired by William Morris prints. We started by creating a mood board based on rainforest images, colours and creatures. We then looked at work created by William Morris, Senaka Senanayake and Ruth Daniels. These were the inspiration for our own prints. We will create the batik image using PVA glue to create the patterns on the fabric. We will then use fabric paint to create our own patterns. It was a great way to start this half-term.
