Exciting new fruit trees at Dorchester

You may have noticed the lovely new tree recently planted at the front of the school. Today, several children helped plant more trees in our Forest School area. Amongst the trees we have: Bramley Seedling, Queen Cox, James Grieve, Spartan and Ellison's Orange. The children will continue to nurture these trees with regular care and maintenance.
This was all made possible by the kind donation from Veolia Orchard. Since 2022, Veolia has delivered 1,085 fruit trees to 291 schools across the UK. This initiative launched in 2022, donating fruit trees to schools in order to give young people a chance to experience the benefits of working with nature as well as improving local biodiversity. For more information, have a look at their website here. We are very grateful for their donation.
It will be exciting to watch them grow. Keep a look-out for future news on any fruit they might produce!
