Year 2: Where is China located?

The children really enjoyed our first lesson on our new topic, which is all about China. When we showed them the flag of China, the children knew instantly what it was, and had clearly spent some time over the holidays learning facts about China - so thank you to the parents who spent some of their Christmas break doing that! We then investigated where China is located on our world map, looking at the continent it is located on, and the surrounding countries. The children were fascinated by the size difference of China compared to its surrounding countries, as well as the UK. We then used our Computing time to teach the children how to set up a Slides presentation, adding a picture of the flag and map of China. Some of the children then learnt how to add text, as well as changing the font and background.
