Year 2: How does Christmas compare with other festivals of light?

This week, the children in Year 2 have been very lucky indeed. On Monday, our Sutton Schools Workers came to deliver a 'Discover Christmas' workshop - the children watched our guests perform the Nativity story to us, and then the rest of the afternoon we had a range of activities to complete together. The following day we had another visitor, this time to tell us the Diwali story. We were then able to put together what we had learned to compare the two festivals. The children had lots of ideas about the similarities and differences between them, and the following day we had a go at making rangoli patterns, using coloured paper to make shapes. The children have made some beautiful designs, well done!
