Year 2: What are the careers we can have in medicine and how have they changed over time?

Our highlight of this week is that we started our History topic, which is all about how medicine and the roles of medical professionals have changed over time. We started this week by investigating what the role of a doctor would have been like over 100 years ago, compared to what it is like today. The children showed us a good level of knowledge about the different types of medical jobs we have (like GPs, nurses, surgeons, dentists) as well as the different places we can go for help (like a hospital, doctor's surgery, dentists). The children discussed the differences between the past and now, and did a wonderful job talking to each other in their table groups. We can't wait to sink our teeth into this topic!
