Story Maps

This week in nursery we have been thinking about different story characters. We have been reading the story of 'The Pirates Next Door.' The children have enjoyed finding out about real life pirates from the past including Blackbeard. The children have also enjoyed drawing different maps to help each other to find hidden treasure. Some of the children have developed this further and drawn their own story maps. For our phonics learning we have been thinking about the initial phonemes in words and enjoyed singing bertha the Bus. In this song all the children organise a zoo and all of the animals that start with the same initial phoneme live together in the zoo, for example the panda, pig, parrot and polar bear).
