Year 5: Bikeability
Published 10/07/25Some of our Year 5 students took part in a cycling proficiency course called Bikeability this week, which now means they have learnt to safely cycle on the road. The children really demonstrated the Dorchester Values, and we received some lovely feedback from the instructors.

Year 5: How did figurative language create imagery in your descriptive writing?
Published 26/06/25The children really enjoyed their writing lessons this week. They enjoyed building sentences using metaphors, similes, alliteration and personification, firstly with their learning partner and then writing a descriptive paragraph independently using their bank of wonderful ideas. Year 5: What a wonderful week!
Published 19/06/25Please make sure you have been following the Year 5 residential updates on social media! The children had the best time, and we were so lucky with the beautiful weather. We can't wait to all get together next week and share information about their experiences, whether on residential with The Bushcraft Company in Kent or at school doing school-based activities as well as bowling and swimming.
